It’s hard to believe, but there are still quite a few offline businesses that don’t have websites, let alone a blog. I have no idea how they cope!
I mean where do they get their clients from? They must spend a fortune in advertising and networking breakfasts.
Don’t they know that inbound marketing is low cost and highly effective?
Businesses are increasingly aware their blog is highly
valuable. 81% of businesses rated their company blogs as
“useful,” “important” or “critical.” An impressive 25% rated
their company blog as “critical” to their business.
With WordPress you can create a dynamic website that is easily updated by you, the business owner.
When you blog (write an article on your WordPress site) you create another business asset that will work for you 24/7 and even through the holidays. It’s the hardest working member of your sales team.
If you can send an email, you can write and publish a blog post – it’s that easy. But like when you first started using email, there is a small (and sometimes steep depending on your capability) learning curve.
Why would you need a WordPress website?
- Flexibility – you can change the look overnight (if you want)
- You can easily capture and safely store your customer’s details
- You keep your name and brand in front of new and potential customers
- You can market last minute deals effectively
- Showcases of your social proof – testimonials and happy customers
- The opportunity to deliver your business internationally
- The ability to make quick and easy changes to your products without having to pick up the phone
- Mobile friendly
There are lots of reason to have a WordPress website, but the most important one for me is to be found.
Let’s take a look at some stats, courtesy of Cara Pring of the Social Skinny.
- Mobile now accounts for 10% of internet usage worldwide (this has more than doubled over last 18months) (The Next Web)
- 1.08 of the world’s 4 billion mobile phones are smartphones
- Apple and Android represent more than 75% of the smartphone market
- 7.96% of all web traffic in the U.S. is mobile traffic. That number skyrockets to 14.85% in Africa, and 17.84% in Asia — up 192.5% since 2010
- 29% of mobile users are open to scanning a mobile tag to get coupons
- 39% of instances where a consumer walks out of a store without buying were influenced by smartphones
People are leaving your business every day and not buying because of what they see or don’t see on the web.
Not only do you have to be online with a website, you need a mobile / responsive website. And you need to be aware that your customers are searching for information on your products – and someone else is supplying it!
WordPress can do all of this an more for you, and you can learn at your own pace with our WordPress Workout videos, go take a look. Blogging means you’ll have to eat less business breakfasts and spend less money on advertising, it means you’ll get more leads and it means you’ll get more business.
Isn’t time you dragged your business into this decade?
